The child protection situation in Pakistan is a matter of serious concern, with children facing numerous challenges including child labor, child marriage, trafficking, abuse, and neglect. To address these issues, Pakistan has established a legal framework for child protection that includes various laws, policies, and programs. The most significant legal instrument for child protection in Pakistan is the Pakistan Penal Code, which includes provisions that criminalize a range of child abuse offenses, including physical abuse, sexual abuse, and child labor. In addition, the Child Protection and Welfare Act was passed in 2010 to provide a legal framework for child protection services and to establish a national commission on the rights of the child.
